10 euro gold proof 2025 Baptism MMXXVInspired by the mystery of Baptism, the Vatican Mint s 10-euro gold coin depicts the face of Christ receiving the water poured from the hand of John the Baptist, while the dove evokes the presence of the Spirit uniting heaven and earth. The essential and luminous style of the scene recalls the moment when God enters history in humility, fully sharing the human condition. As Pope Leo XIV recalled on January 11, He who is baptized by John in the Jordan makes of this gesture a new sign of death and resurrection, of forgiveness and communion. In this small masterpiece, the gesture at the Jordan becomes a living memory: the Lord enters our history and illuminates our path with the light of the Risen One. On the obverse appears the coat of arms of Pope Leo XIV, accompanied by the inscriptions LEO PP. XIV - MMXXV. AN. I

100 euro gold proof 2024 2nd Vatican CouncilThis 100 euro gold coin is dedicated to the Second Vatican Council s declaration Dignitatis Humanae, promulgated by Pope Paul VI on 7 December 1965. It solemnly proclaims the principle of religious freedom: This Vatican Council declares that the human person has a right to religious freedom. This freedom means that all people should be immune from coercion by individuals, social groups, or any human power Artist Gabriella Titotto, inspired by Blessed Angelico s masterpiece in the Niccoline Chapel of the Vatican Museums, depicts the stoning of Saint Stephen, arrested for blasphemy and condemned to death, who became the first Christian martyr for his unshakable faith in Christ. The scene unfolds in three moments: to the right, the Saint prays while suffering martyrdom; at the centre, the executioners violently hurl stones; on the left, a group of men silently and motionlessly witnesses the unfolding injustice.

20 euro gold proof 2024 95th anniversary of the Lateran TreatyThis 20 euro gold coin commemorates the 95th anniversary of the historic signing of the Lateran Treaty, a fundamental and solemn event in the history of relations between the Italian State and the Holy See. Artist Daniela Longo places the profile bust of Pope Pius XI at the centre, a key figure in the delicate diplomatic process that led to the agreements. In his encyclical Ubi Arcano (23 December 1922), Pius XI referred to the painful and distressing situation between the Italian State and the Apostolic See, sending Italy a message of reconciliation: Italy has nothing to fear from the Holy See. The Pope, whoever he may be, will always repeat: I have plans for peace and not for harm (Jer. 29:11); plans of true peace, and thus inseparable from justice. With the signing of the Lateran Treaty on 11 February 1929, the State of Vatican City was officially established, an autonomous and sovereign entity under the exclusive authority of the Pontiff.
